Highlands Ranch is one of the largest master-planned communities in the metro area. It is an unincorporated community managed through the Highlands Ranch Community Association, which operates recreation centers, pools, parks and miles of trails for residents.
Housing is mostly single-family homes and townhomes built from the 1980s onward, in neighborhoods that are well maintained and family-oriented. Schools are part of the Douglas County School District, and shopping and dining are close by along Broadway and County Line Road.
