Conifer is an unincorporated mountain community along US 285 in the foothills southwest of Denver, at around 8,000 feet. It has a rural, wooded feel, with homes set among pines and aspens and views of the Front Range.
Most properties are single-family homes on larger lots, and many are on wells and septic systems. Commutes to Denver are typically thirty to forty-five minutes depending on traffic and weather, and residents accept that trade for space, privacy and outdoor access.
